Red Bull Revamps Technical Team

Red Bull has unveiled a series of changes within its technical department, aimed at intensifying its emphasis on performance and innovation. Ben Waterhouse, who has been an integral part of the team since 2017 as head of performance engineering, will assume an expanded leadership role as chief performance and design engineer, reporting directly to technical director Pierre Wache. This new position will grant Waterhouse oversight across design and vehicle performance, thereby enhancing the integration between these areas and expediting the development of high-performing solutions. Additionally, Andrea Landi will join the team from Racing Bulls on July 1, taking on the role of head of performance. Landi, who has previously worked with Ferrari as deputy head of vehicle performance, will report to Waterhouse. According to a statement from Red Bull, these adjustments are designed to support the team's long-term technical aspirations, underscoring its commitment to nurturing internal talent while attracting top expertise from across the sport. Red Bull has faced a challenging start to the new era of F1 regulations, currently sitting sixth in the Constructors' Championship, 119 points behind leaders Mercedes. The team has also experienced a significant exodus of key staff members to rival teams in recent years, including the impending departure of Gianpiero Lambiase to McLaren in 2028. The Miami Grand Prix, the season's second Sprint weekend, is set to take place on May 1-3, live on Sky Sports F1.
