Gerwyn Price made history by becoming the second player to win 10 European titles, joining Michael van Gerwen, after defeating Ross Smith 8-6 at the European Darts Grand Prix. The Welshman's victory marked his 10th title, solidifying his position as one of the greatest players in European darts. The final was a closely contested match, with both players experiencing moments of brilliance and heartbreak. Price's early 3-0 lead was matched by Smith, who levelled the game at 3-3 with two breaks of his own. The turning point came in the 11th leg, when Price found another break of throw, moving 6-5 ahead. He then held his throw well and sealed the win on D12. For Smith, it was another disappointing defeat in a European final, his fourth. Price's victory has given him confidence ahead of his upcoming match against Gian van Veen in the Premier League Darts. 'I think me and Ross probably both tried a bit too hard in that game,' Price said. 'We have both had great tournaments, and I was just struggling to get over the winning line.' The road to the final saw Price overcome Wessel Nijman 7-4 in the semi-finals, while Smith battled past Krzysztof Ratajski 7-5. Earlier in the tournament, Price held off a strong challenge from Martin Schindler, winning 6-5 in a thrilling last-leg decider. Smith started his campaign with a 6-4 win over Nathan Aspinall, before defeating Ratajski in the semi-finals. The tournament also saw notable wins for Nijman, who defeated Michael van Gerwen, and Ratajski, who edged out Danny Noppert in a tense quarter-final match.
