Manchester United Express Interest in Jean-Philippe Mateta and Defender Jeremy Jacquet
Manchester United have been following the progress of Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta, with the French striker potentially becoming a target if he becomes available in the future. Although the club is not currently seeking to sign a new striker, Mateta's contract situation at Palace could lead to a more serious pursuit. The 28-year-old will enter the final year of his contract in July and previously attracted bids from Champions League clubs, including a £50m offer that was turned down by Palace. Meanwhile, United are also monitoring Stade Rennes central defender Jeremy Jacquet, a 20-year-old France U21 international who has been linked to several clubs. A move for Jacquet in January is considered difficult, but the situation could change if other clubs express interest. Additionally, United are considering selling young winger Sam Mather to Turkish club Kayserispor, with a formal offer submitted for the England youth international.
