Matt Fitzpatrick concluded the second day of the RBC Heritage with a one-stroke advantage, having achieved a score of 63, eight under par. The English golfer made eight birdies without any bogeys during his second round at Hilton Head, including a notable 36-foot putt on the 15th hole. Following an opening round of 65, Fitzpatrick, the 2022 US Open champion, started Friday in a six-way tie for third place. At the halfway point, the 31-year-old is at the top of the leaderboard with a score of 14 under par.

Viktor Hovland of Norway trails by one stroke, retaining his second-place position with a score of 65 in the second round. Overnight leader Ludvig Aberg dropped to a tie for fourth place after making three bogeys on the back nine. Robert MacIntyre of Scotland finished the day six strokes behind Fitzpatrick with a score of 68, while world number one Scottie Scheffler is seven strokes behind the leader after carding a 67.
