Bournemouth's head coach, Andoni Iraola, has announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the season. According to Sky Sports News, former RB Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund manager Marco Rose is one of three candidates being considered to succeed Iraola.
Iraola's contract expires in three months, and despite numerous offers to extend his stay, he has chosen to depart. The coach has six remaining games with Bournemouth, including a home match against Manchester City on May 17. Bournemouth had attempted to persuade Iraola to stay, but he felt it was the right time to step away.
The club has been searching for a new head coach in the background and has shortlisted three favored candidates. Bournemouth currently sits 11th in the Premier League and still has a chance to qualify for European competition.
Iraola has been a popular figure at the club since his appointment in June 2023, implementing an attacking style of football. He will leave Bournemouth as one of the Premier League's most sought-after coaching prospects. Athletic Club is interested in bringing Iraola back to the Basque Country, while Crystal Palace and Tottenham have also been linked to the coach.
Manchester United and Newcastle are also rumored to be considering Iraola as a potential candidate for their head coaching positions.
