Norris Unveils McLaren's Strategy to Reclaim Title

McLaren driver Lando Norris is optimistic about his team's chances of defending their world titles despite a sluggish start to the season. Norris, the reigning champion, has yet to secure a podium finish in the first three races, but his teammate Oscar Piastri finished second in Japan. With almost five weeks to refine their cars, Norris believes there is still ample opportunity to turn their fortunes around. "I think we can still have a great season, even if we're not currently where we want to be," Norris said, emphasizing that giving up is not an option. He pointed to past experiences where the team overcame early setbacks to finish strong, citing 2023 and 2024 as examples. Norris stressed the importance of addressing reliability issues and accumulating more track time to bridge the gap with leading teams like Mercedes. Teammate Piastri also expressed confidence in the team's ability to contend for victories, highlighting their capacity to out-develop the field and close the gap to Mercedes. With 19 races remaining, both drivers are eager to see what the season holds, starting with the Miami Grand Prix on May 1-3.
