Howe Reiterates Commitment to Newcastle Amid Speculation Over His Future

Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has reaffirmed his dedication to the club following comments from chief executive David Hopkinson that sparked uncertainty about his future. The team is set to face Crystal Palace on Sunday, following consecutive losses to Barcelona and Sunderland before the international break. However, Howe has stated that his commitment to Newcastle remains unwavering, saying 'For me, nothing has changed. I'm 100 per cent committed to the job.' He emphasized that his focus is on the remaining seven Premier League games and ensuring the team performs at its best. When asked if he had sought assurances about his future, Howe replied, 'I don't need assurances from anybody. I've got to do my work and make sure the team is successful.' He also highlighted the importance of a positive working relationship with key figures at the club, including Hopkinson and sporting director Ross Wilson. Regarding the possibility of selling star players in the summer, Howe noted that the club must manage expectations and be 'smart' in the next transfer window to improve. Despite the current challenges, Howe believes the long-term prospects for Newcastle are strong, but the team will need to be strategic to achieve their goals.
