Van Gerwen Eyes Third European Darts Grand Prix Title
Michael van Gerwen is on the hunt for his third European Darts Grand Prix title in Sindelfingen, where he may face William O'Connor. The Dutch star will begin his campaign against either O'Connor or Michael Unterbuchner, while Gary Anderson starts his bid for a third consecutive title against Niko Springer or Robin Masino. The fifth European Tour event of 2026 features a 48-player field competing for the £35,000 top prize. Anderson, a two-time World Champion, returns to the European Tour circuit after a break, joining six former European Darts Grand Prix winners in action. The opening round on Friday will see 16 matches across two sessions, with German star Springer facing his countryman Masino, who makes his big-stage debut. Former champions Rob Cross, Peter Wright, and Kim Huybrechts will also star on Day One, along with 2019 winner Ian White, who replaces Ryan Joyce in the field. Other notable clashes include Cameron Menzies vs. Raymond van Barneveld and Australian No. 1 Damon Heta vs. Latvia's Madars Razma. The tournament will be streamed, and fans can catch up on the latest darts news and schedules.
