Double Injury Setback for England in Women's Six Nations

A significant blow has been dealt to England's Women's Six Nations campaign, as Morwenna Talling and Natasha Hunt have been forced to withdraw due to leg injuries sustained during the team's 33-12 victory over Ireland. The injuries occurred in the second half of the match, which took place in front of a record-breaking crowd of 77,120 at Allianz Stadium. Talling, a lock, was injured after 43 minutes, while Hunt, a replacement scrum-half, lasted only 13 minutes before being substituted due to her injury. This setback adds to England's existing woes, as Zoe Stratford, Abbie Ward, and Rosie Galligan have all withdrawn from the tournament due to pregnancy. England head coach John Mitchell expressed his concerns, stating that the team may need to rely on back-rowers for the remainder of the competition. Talling and Hunt will remain with the England camp to consult with specialists before beginning their rehabilitation at their respective clubs. In response to these injuries, the RFU has confirmed that Sydney Gregson and uncapped player Haidee Head have joined the squad to prepare for the upcoming match against Scotland at Murrayfield.
