Thomas Partey Pleads Not Guilty to Additional Rape Allegations
Ex-Arsenal player Thomas Partey has denied two fresh allegations of rape. The 32-year-old midfielder appeared at Southwark Crown Court, where he entered not guilty pleas for allegedly raping a woman in London in December 2020. Partey had previously been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, which he also denied. The new allegations bring the total number of rape charges against him to seven, with one additional count of sexual assault. All the allegations, which involve four different women, will be tried together, with a trial date potentially set for January next year. Partey, a key player for the Ghana national team, is currently on bail and is expected to face England in the World Cup this summer.
