Darts Player Noa-Lynn Van Leuven Vows to Continue Fighting After Ban on Transgender Women

Noa-Lynn Van Leuven has expressed her determination to keep fighting after the Darts Regulation Authority announced a ban on transgender women competing in women's tournaments. The 29-year-old, who has won six titles on the women's tour since joining in 2022, stated that the decision is not just about her, but also a significant setback for the trans community. Van Leuven, who made history by becoming the first transgender woman to play at the World Darts Championship in 2024, emphasized that she has worked hard to get to where she is and will not give up easily. The DRA's ruling, which allows transgender women to continue competing in open tournaments, was made after a review of its policies and consideration of extensive legal advice. Van Leuven has received support from fellow players, including Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries, and has vowed to continue playing darts and having fun despite the ban.
