Andreeva Secures Spot in Linz Final Against Potapova

Mirra Andreeva has reached her second WTA Tour final of the year after defeating Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 6-1 in the Linz Open semi-finals. Andreeva, the top seed, initially broke Ruse's serve in the first game but then faced consecutive breaks on her own serve. However, she regained control by breaking Ruse in the eighth game and again in the next service game to take the set 6-4. Andreeva dominated the second set, breaking Ruse in the fourth and sixth games, ultimately serving out a 6-4, 6-1 win after one hour and 27 minutes. Anastasia Potapova will also be returning to the final for the first time since her debut title three years ago, having defeated Donna Vekic 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-finals. Potapova took an early lead over Vekic but faced a comeback before holding on to take the first set. She continued to dominate in the second set, building a 4-0 lead before securing her first win over Vekic in their last three meetings. This marks Potapova's first final appearance since representing Russia, prior to December 2025. The upcoming final will be the pair's fourth meeting, with Andreeva having won their last two encounters, although they have not played each other on clay before.
