Man Utd Interim Manager Search: Solskjaer and Carrick in Frame

Manchester United has initiated discussions with external candidates to find an interim manager to lead the team until the end of the season. Following Ruben Amorim's departure, three former Old Trafford favorites, including Michael Carrick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, are being considered for a potential return. The club's director of football, Jason Wilcox, is overseeing the process and has already engaged in informal conversations with candidates, including Carrick and Solskjaer. Both are currently out of work and available without any compensation requirements. The club's hierarchy views Darren Fletcher, the current caretaker, as a promising option for the future, despite his limited first-team coaching experience. Fletcher is expected to remain in charge for the next two matches. Meanwhile, the club is also exploring a wider pool of candidates for a potential permanent appointment, with Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner and Newcastle's Eddie Howe linked to the role. However, both Glasner and Howe have reiterated their commitment to their respective clubs, with Glasner shutting down speculation during a press conference and Howe expressing his happiness in his current role.
