"We should be aiming to win the title this season," says new Rangers manager Derek McInnes, who is determined to make an immediate impact at Ibrox. Following a disappointing final-day loss to Hearts, McInnes has taken the reins at Rangers and is confident that the team can secure their first title since 2021.
Their new campaign kicks off against Dundee United on Friday night, and McInnes is eager to get off to a strong start. "Building confidence and momentum is crucial," he explained. "The fans are eager to support a winning team, and it's up to us to earn their trust with strong performances." With eight new players joining the squad, including Lawrence Shankland and Cammy Devlin from Hearts, McInnes believes that the team has the potential to succeed. "Every team is still looking for key additions, but I'm pleased with how the players have responded to our training sessions over the past four weeks," he said.
"We're physically ready, but we still have some work to do as a squad. We have good options in certain areas, but we're a bit light defensively and could improve in the center forward position."
