Last week, the PING Europe apparel team joined us at the Chevron Championship for the inaugural fitting session for both players and their caddies. This marks the first time we have been able to try on the official Solheim Cup garments before the event, allowing us to fine‑tune every detail. Our collaboration with the PING Europe apparel group spans the last three Solheim Cups, so the process runs smoothly.
The team is receptive to our feedback and eager to adjust fits, fabrics, and styles to meet our preferences. While the final outfits will remain a surprise until the squads arrive in the Netherlands, I was given an exclusive preview of the accessories we selected, the colour palettes we chose, and the materials we settled on. In addition to the core uniform, there are a few playful surprises we are still polishing for the players and caddies. We are currently finalising the attire for the gala dinner scheduled for Wednesday of Solheim Cup week, as well as the clothing we will wear during the opening ceremony.
Both events demand a blend of elegance and team spirit, and we want the ensembles to reflect the prestige of the competition while still being comfortable for the athletes. It feels as though every conversation I have these days inevitably circles back to the event, whether it’s a casual chat with a teammate or a formal briefing with a sponsor. Balancing my responsibilities on tour with the duties of captain has been a demanding juggling act, but I have been fortunate to receive unwavering support from the Ladies European Tour, the LPGA, and my management team, all of whom have helped me navigate this dual role. Being on this journey alongside the players is precisely why I accepted the captaincy.
When I am paired with European competitors during practice rounds, I get a front‑row seat to watch them work, to understand their rhythms, and to forge deeper connections. Those moments inside the ropes, observing the athletes up close, are priceless and reinforce why this experience is so rewarding.
