This Saturday promises to be an action-packed day of racing, and I'm excited to share my thoughts in my latest blog. My employer, Archie Watson, is sending two young horses to Thirsk, and I'll be joining them to ride.

Before Merlier attempts to secure a hat-trick, our two-year-old Niewiadoma will make her highly anticipated debut in the British EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes. I've had the pleasure of riding her several times in preparation, and I'm delighted with her progress.

With natural speed and a great attitude, she's ready for her first day at the track. It's challenging to gauge her five rivals, all of whom are also making their racecourse debuts. Merlier has shown significant improvement on the All-Weather, and I'm looking forward to riding him again in the Stirrup Bar For Deli-Style Dining Packages Handicap.

He won a five-furlong maiden at Newcastle and followed up with a win at Wolverhampton, earning him an opening rating of 85. This weekend, Sky Sports Racing will feature the Greenham Stakes at Newbury, where Zavateri and Albert Einstein will face off.

Newbury tips suggest Zavateri is the favorite to win the Greenham Stakes on Saturday. As I prepare for a busy day of racing, I'm also keeping an eye on the Spring Trials weekend at Newbury.

In other news, Oxagon recently won the Craven Stakes, and Azleet has entered the 1000 Guineas contention after a surprise win in the Nell Gwyn Stakes. I previously discussed my hopes for Derby contender Wareeth in the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket.

Stepping into a handicap for the first time will be a new challenge for Merlier, as he'll be facing proven sprinters and racing on turf for the first time. However, I'm confident that the good ground won't be an issue, and I'm happy with his middle draw in stall five. With a career-low mark, I expect Warm Spell to perform well in division one of the Join Racing TV Today Handicap.

He's run some impressive races in defeat and has placed efforts off higher marks over seven furlongs at Sandown and Kempton Park. I'm looking forward to riding for veteran northern trainer Wilf Storey, who supported me during my early days as an apprentice. I'll be riding his course and distance winner Idyllic in the Happy 21st Birthday Lily Watkinson Handicap. Mark Walford is also in great form, having completed his first Flat treble at Ripon, which could bode well for his new recruit Solar Biricz in the Nick Simpson Cannot Be 60 Handicap.

I'm hoping Eve Johnson Houghton and Charlie Bishop can keep their Classic dreams alive with Betfred 2000 Guineas contender Zavateri in the Watership Down Stud Too Darn Hot Greenham Stakes at Newbury on Saturday. Their Without Parole colt set the standard with a win in the Group 1 National Stakes in Ireland.

Albert Einstein's re-appearance in a Listed race at the Curragh was disappointing, but it's interesting that Aidan O'Brien is turning him out again over seven furlongs. The Group 3 Dubai Duty Free Stakes at Newbury looks like an open renewal, with several fillies holding similar prospects.

I believe Shadwell's Touleen is better than she showed in the Rockfel last autumn, but she'll need to be at her best to win this traditional Classic trial. Returning to the flatter track where she won on debut, Owen Burrows' filly should perform well, but she may have the most to fear from Richard and Peter Fahey's Catching The Moon. It would be a remarkable achievement if young trainer Jack Channon could win the Win Unique Experiences At OLBG Prizes Spring Cup Handicap with Urban Lion, following his win in the Lincoln. I expect Simon and Ed Crisford's Shout to fare better than he did at Doncaster, and with champion Oisin Murphy in the saddle, he's one to keep an eye on.

Finally, I'm hoping to see Al Aasy win the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Stakes for Tom Marquand and William Haggas. The nine-year-old loves this track and can keep Karl Burke's likely favorite Convergent on his toes.
