Following his jaw-dropping debut in the ONE Championship, Britain's Ben Woolliss is ready to take on his next challenge on May 16, broadcast live on Sky Sports. Woolliss will face off against Petchtanong Petchfergus in a bantamweight kickboxing match at the Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand, which will air on Sky Sports in the early hours of Saturday, May 16.
This bout, part of ONE Fight Night 43, pits Woolliss against a former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion, Petchfergus. Despite battling long-term health issues, Woolliss, hailing from Grimsby, signed with ONE and made a remarkable promotional debut just last month. On short notice of nine days, he accepted his first fight, stepping into the ring with former ONE bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker for a featherweight kickboxing clash.
Lineker, infamous for his formidable punching power, was defeated by Woolliss in a spectacular one-round stoppage, courtesy of Woolliss's damaging low kicks. The main event on May 16 features Chinese star Tang Kai as he defends his ONE featherweight MMA world title for the second time against Shamil "The Cobra" Gasanov. Kai has proven unbeatable in the featherweight MMA division, while Gasanov boasts a near-flawless record, leveraging his stand-up skills, grappling prowess, and submission expertise to overwhelm opponents. Having avenged his sole career loss, Gasanov is poised to strike, potentially unstoppable in his current form.
