Fitzpatrick Takes the Lead After Round Two of the RBC Heritage

Matt Fitzpatrick has taken the top spot on the leaderboard after the second round of the RBC Heritage, finishing with a one-stroke lead after achieving an impressive eight-under-par score of 63. The English golfer had a flawless round, making eight birdies, including a notable 36-foot putt on the 15th hole, at the Hilton Head course. Fitzpatrick, the 2022 US Open champion, started the day in a six-way tie for third place after an opening round of 65. Now, at the halfway point, he leads the tournament at 14 under par. Viktor Hovland of Norway trails closely behind, just one stroke back, after securing a second-round score of 65 to retain his second-place position. Overnight leader Ludvig Aberg slipped to a joint-fourth position after encountering three bogeys on the back nine. Meanwhile, Scotland's Robert MacIntyre is six shots behind Fitzpatrick after posting a score of 68, and world number one Scottie Scheffler is seven shots off the lead after carding a 67.
