Nicky Richards Seeks to Extend Winning Streak at Hexham

Following an impressive eight consecutive victories, Nicky Richards is sending three horses to compete in the National Hunt events at Hexham on Monday. Jamesieconn, part of the in-form Richards team, is aiming for a fourth consecutive win in the Mick Walsh Open Ditch Handicap Chase. Having previously demonstrated a preference for the three-mile distance and good ground, Jamesieconn achieved a win at Carlisle and has since been assigned a 5lb higher mark of 100. Despite the added weight, Jamesieconn may still rise to the challenge under the guidance of jockey Danny McMenamin. Streamsforth Lad, another Richards contender, has yet to secure a win despite showing improvement in his recent performances, including a second-place finish at Bangor. Stuart Coltherd's Rightbackatyou will also be competing, having previously finished as the best of the rest behind Scottish King over the same course and distance. Young Getaway, trained by Richards, will attempt to continue the team's remarkable winning streak in the Anthony Woods Electrical Lightning Bolt Handicap Chase, marking his chasing debut a year after his defeat over hurdles. That One, trained by James Walton, is also making his debut over fences after a recent loss at Newcastle. Jack Power's 5lb claim could significantly impact the seven-year-old's chances, effectively lowering his mark to a competitive 105. The partnership of Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore will field two runners: Heads Or Harps, who has consistently placed in his recent starts, and Choose A Copper. Grant Wood, trained by Paul Midgley, returns to Gosforth Park, a course where he has enjoyed significant success, including two recent victories. Wicket Keeper, having secured two wins over six furlongs, finished fourth in his latest outing over the same course and distance. Paddy's Day will wear a tongue-tie for the first time under the guidance of Nigel Tinkler, while Albasheer, a previous winner of the Constantine Handicap, will be ridden by Sky Sports Racing ambassador Hollie Doyle. Gardener, who won his last outing over the course and distance, returns to compete in the Happy Retirement Maurice & Anne Barnes Handicap Hurdle at 4:30 pm.
