The prestigious Laureus World Sport Awards saw Rory McIlroy and Lando Norris emerge as winners on a star-studded night. McIlroy, who completed his career Grand Slam in 2025, received the Laureus World Comeback of the Year Award, while Norris won the Laureus World Breakthrough of the Year Award after claiming his maiden Formula One drivers' championship title. McIlroy expressed his gratitude, stating that winning his second Laureus Award is a huge honor, both personally and for golf. He highlighted that having the sport recognized on a global stage, alongside great athletes, means a lot.
Norris also shared his excitement, thanking the Laureus Academy for the recognition and acknowledging that his achievement was not individual, but a result of his team's efforts. Other winners included Carlos Alcaraz, who was named Laureus World Sportsman of the Year, and Aryna Sabalenka, who received the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year Award.
