Bryson DeChambeau has pulled out of LIV Golf Mexico City due to a wrist injury, forcing him to miss the final round. DeChambeau, who has won two LIV Golf events this season, was 16 strokes behind leader Jon Rahm after the third round.
In a statement, DeChambeau said he experienced discomfort in his wrist during the third round and decided to withdraw to prevent further injury. DeChambeau expressed his disappointment, saying it wasn't how he wanted the week to go, and wished his team, the Crushers, a strong finish.
He plans to take a few days to get evaluated and hopes to be ready for LIV Golf Virginia. DeChambeau's withdrawal comes amidst uncertainty surrounding the LIV Golf League's future, with reports suggesting the Saudi Public Investment Fund may end its financial support. Despite this, LIV Golf chief executive Scott O'Neil stated that the league is funded through the season and will work to secure its future. The next LIV Golf League event is scheduled to take place from May 7-10 at Trump National Golf Club in Washington DC.
