Double Injury Setback Hits England's Women's Six Nations Campaign
A double injury blow has struck England's Women's Six Nations squad, with Morwenna Talling and Natasha Hunt ruled out for the remainder of the tournament due to leg injuries sustained during the 33-12 victory over Ireland at Allianz Stadium. The injuries occurred in the second half of the match, with lock Talling being forced off after 43 minutes and replacement scrum-half Hunt lasting just 13 minutes before being substituted due to injury. This latest setback adds to England's woes in the second row, following the withdrawal of Zoe Stratford, Abbie Ward, and Rosie Galligan due to pregnancy. England head coach John Mitchell acknowledged the challenge, stating that the team may need to rely on back-rowers to fill the gaps. Talling and Hunt will undergo specialist treatment and rehabilitation at their respective clubs. In response to the injuries, the RFU has confirmed that Sydney Gregson and uncapped player Haidee Head have joined the squad ahead of the upcoming match against Scotland at Murrayfield.
