Aston Martin's F1 Struggles Expected to Persist

According to Sky Sports F1's Martin Brundle, Aston Martin's dismal start to the 2026 season is unlikely to improve anytime soon. Despite the promising partnership with design expert Adrian Newey and Honda as their new engine partner, the team has struggled to make an impact, failing to score a point in the first three race weekends. Fernando Alonso's 18th-place finish in Japan was the only instance where one of their cars completed a full Grand Prix. Brundle described the situation as a 'nightmare' and a 'horror show,' emphasizing the need for the team to address their speed and reliability issues. With a significant gap to bridge, Brundle believes it will take time for Aston Martin to recover, possibly not until 2027. The team is working to resolve engine vibrations and develop their AMR26 chassis, but a turnaround is expected to be a long-term process.
