Rahm, who went winless last season, demonstrated his prowess with a bogey-free performance, including a birdie on the par-4 second hole and an eagle on the next. His win was a significant turnaround from his previous performance, and he expressed his surprise at the margin of victory.
The event was also marked by the withdrawal of Bryson DeChambeau due to a wrist injury, and the success of David Puig, who finished second and boosted his world ranking points. The LIV Golf League will next head to Trump National Golf Club in Washington DC for the LIV Golf Virginia event from May 7-10.
