Dan Skelton Celebrates Historic Trainer's Title Win

Dan Skelton has expressed his thrill at finally clinching the champion trainer title, after it became impossible for him to be overtaken. The Alcester-based trainer had previously seen the title slip through his fingers on the final day of the previous two seasons, courtesy of Willie Mullins. However, Skelton has made amends in style, dominating the season from the outset and becoming the first trainer to surpass £4 million in prize money. Skelton has faced intense competition from Mullins in the final weeks of the season in recent years. Nevertheless, with Mullins' representation expected to be limited in the last two weekends of the campaign, the pathway is clear for Skelton to bask in the glory of his triumph. Mullins, who trails Skelton by £2,094,034, conceded defeat and offered his congratulations after Skelton's Grand National victory with I Am Maximus. This leaves Skelton to savor his victory ahead of receiving the trophy for the first time at Sandown Park on April 25.
