Benn Prioritizes Garcia Fight, but Other Top Contenders Are Eager for a Bout

Conor Benn has expressed his eagerness to secure a WBC title fight against Ryan Garcia, but he's also aware that other prominent fighters are now vying for a chance to face him. Benn recently signed a multi-year, multi-fight deal with Zuffa Boxing, following his successful debut with the company, where he defeated Regis Prograis on the Tyson Fury bill. As the mandatory challenger for Garcia's WBC welterweight title, Benn believes he has a wide range of options and isn't short on potential opponents. Benn stated, 'Getting the Garcia fight done is my top priority, but I have plenty of other options.' He also mentioned that several big-name fighters have been calling him out, and he's amused by their sudden interest. The 29-year-old fighter, who avenged his loss to Chris Eubank Jr in a rematch last November, has been making waves in the boxing world. His recent points victory over two-time world champion Prograis has garnered attention, with many fighters now eager to face him. Benn noted, 'It's funny how all these fighters are calling me out now, begging for a fight. No one was interested after my second fight against Eubank, but now they're all hyping me up.' He also acknowledged that his performance against Prograis, where he won almost every round and dropped to 149lbs, was impressive, especially considering it was his first fight back at 150lbs in four years and he had only six weeks' notice. Dana White, the head of Zuffa Boxing, is open to making a 'fun' fight between Benn and Garcia, and has expressed his desire to make the biggest fights possible. With Zuffa Boxing's recent signing of Chris Billam-Smith, the former WBO cruiserweight champion, White expects to recruit more of Britain's top fighters in the coming weeks.
