Sinner and Alcaraz Advance to Quarterfinals at Monte-Carlo Masters

Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner ended his 37-set winning streak at the Masters 1000 level but still managed to reach the quarterfinals of the Monte-Carlo Masters. He defeated Tomas Machac 6-1, 6-7, 6-3. Sinner had previously won titles at Indian Wells and the Miami Open without dropping a set. Despite struggling with fatigue, Sinner pushed through to secure the win. 'Not every day is the same, I was struggling a bit, I was a bit tired,' Sinner said. He will face Felix Auger-Aliassime in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz dropped a set but still won 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 against Tomas Martin Etcheverry to continue his title defense. Alcaraz will play Alexander Bublik in the quarterfinals. Other winners include Joao Fonseca, Alexander Zverev, Alex De Minaur, and Valentin Vacherot. In the Linz WTA 500 tournament, Ekaterina Alexandrova and Liudmila Samsonova were knocked out. Holger Rune will return to action at the Hamburg Open after undergoing Achilles surgery.
