Women's T20 World Cup 2026 to Feature Record-Breaking Prize Fund

A 10 per cent increase in the total prize fund has been confirmed for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026, which is set to take place in England and Wales. The tournament's winners will receive $2.34m, while the runners-up will take home $1.17m. All participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of $247,500, more than double the amount from the previous edition. The ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta, stated that the growth of women's cricket is accelerating, and the expansion of the tournament to 12 teams, combined with a record prize pool, demonstrates their commitment to building a stronger global game. The event is expected to set new attendance and viewing records, with a notable increase in prize money for the top teams. The 33-match tournament will be held across 24 days in seven venues, featuring teams such as Australia, Bangladesh, and India. The tournament director, Beth Barrett-Wild, said that the event is on track to become the most attended women's cricket event in history, with record-breaking ticket demand and the largest-ever prize pot for a global women's T20 competition.
