Riakporhe Aims to Strike Fear in the Heavyweight Division

Richard Riakporhe is set to compete in his third heavyweight bout as he challenges Jeamie TKV for the British title on Saturday. The London-based fighters will clash on the undercard of the highly anticipated Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Following his loss to Chris Billam-Smith in the WBO cruiserweight title challenge, Riakporhe transitioned to the heavyweight division, where he has secured knockout victories over Kevin Nicolas Espindola and Tommy Welch. He is now determined to claim his first title in the division. Riakporhe is eager to demonstrate his formidable power against TKV. In an interview with Sky Sports, Riakporhe stated, "I am a serious contender in the heavyweight division, and those who underestimate me are misguided." He added, "Once people witness my capabilities, they will recognize me as a force to be reckoned with, and the skeptics will be singing my praises, warning others about the 'Midnight Train'." However, TKV's aggressive fighting style could pose a challenge for Riakporhe. The challenger cautioned the champion, "You're taking on a formidable puncher, and one mistake can be costly. Maintaining perfection over 12 rounds is a daunting task." Riakporhe feels that he has yet to showcase his true potential. "I haven't had my moment in the spotlight yet, but it's approaching soon," he said. Meanwhile, TKV has issued a warning of his own, stating, "My goal is to dominate every aspect of the fight, whether it's at close range, mid-range, or from a distance." The champion added, "I have a reputation for inflicting pain on my opponents, even in fights that go the distance." Riakporhe hopes that a British title win will propel him into world title contention.
