Sinner Achieves 20th Consecutive Masters 1000 Victory, Alcaraz Reaches Semifinals

Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner has added another impressive win to his record, defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-3, 6-4 to become the fourth player to achieve 20 consecutive Masters 1000 match victories, joining an elite group that includes Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal. This win marks a significant comeback for Sinner, who had previously broken his 37-set winning streak in the fourth round against Tomas Machac. Sinner's victory has also brought him closer to reclaiming the world No. 1 spot, which he lost to Carlos Alcaraz in November last year. Following his win, Sinner expressed his satisfaction with his performance, stating, "I feel like it was a step forward today... It was a very tough match. I knew I had to improve in certain areas. The serve is not where I want it to be, but overall, I'm very happy. Sinner will face Alexander Zverev in the semifinals, who defeated Brazil's Joao Fonseca 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 6-3 to secure his spot. Meanwhile, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz has also advanced to the semifinals, defeating Alexander Bublik 6-3, 6-0. Alcaraz dominated the match, dropping just three games and boosting his confidence. He will face hometown hero Valentin Vacherot, who saved 13 break points to defeat Alex de Minaur 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 and become the first Monegasque player to reach the semifinals at Monte Carlo. Vacherot expressed his excitement about playing in the semifinals, stating, "It's an honor to be part of the semifinals with the three best players of the past few years... I'm so lucky to have a tournament in my club." Alcaraz was impressed by Vacherot's rise, and the 27-year-old is projected to break into the top 20 when the ATP rankings are updated on Monday.
