Bartoli advises Raducanu to adopt Sabalenka's coaching approach

Marion Bartoli, a former Wimbledon champion and current Sky Sports analyst, has advised Emma Raducanu to follow Aryna Sabalenka's example by maintaining a long-term partnership with a single coach. Sabalenka recently achieved the 'Sunshine Double' by winning the Miami Open, following her victory at the Indian Wells crown. This success can be attributed to her stable support team, including coach Anton Dubrov, whom she has worked with since 2020. The addition of Max Mirnyi to her team has also brought variety to her game, particularly in terms of serve and volley. Raducanu, on the other hand, has had nine different coaches since her 2021 US Open win, with her most recent split being with Francisco Roig after the Australian Open. Bartoli emphasized the importance of stability in coaching, stating that Raducanu needs to find the right fit and stick with it for an extended period. Martina Navratilova, an 18-time Grand Slam champion, also urged Raducanu to carefully choose her next coach and give them sufficient time to make a positive impact. Navratilova suggested that Raducanu should focus on improving her physical fitness, as this is an area where she can make significant progress without relying on her coach. Sky Sports analyst Tim Henman shared similar sentiments, highlighting the need for Raducanu to work on her physicality to compete with top players like Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, and Coco Gauff. Henman believes that Raducanu has the potential to break into the top 10, but she needs to address her physical limitations and build her resilience to avoid injuries. With the right approach and support, Raducanu can unlock her full potential and achieve greater success in the tennis world.
