Andy Murray has resumed his coaching role with Jack Draper, following the younger player's forced absence from Wimbledon due to an injury. The partnership was initially announced in May, with Murray joining Draper's team after the latter parted ways with his previous coach, Jamie Delgado. However, Murray had set certain conditions for their collaboration, stating that he would only commit to a few weeks and nothing was confirmed beyond Wimbledon.
Murray prioritized his family life, wanting to balance his coaching responsibilities with picking up his children from school. Draper, who has been struggling with a recurring arm issue, was slated to return to competition at the Mubadala DC Open but was forced to withdraw due to an arm injury. As a result, his ranking has suffered, dropping to No 147 on the ATP Tour rankings, which may require him to qualify for the US Open in September. Draper has not competed in any Grand Slams since last year's US Open, where he was also forced to withdraw due to an injury.
Speaking about his relationship with Murray, Draper expressed his gratitude for the support he has received, stating that Murray has always been a great inspiration to him. With Murray back on board as his coach, Draper is looking to regain his momentum in the tennis world.
