The Ghaiyyath colt, who had previously shown immense promise with four wins in his first five starts, dictated the pace throughout under William Buick. Despite being third in the market at 4-1, Charlie Appleby's charge led from the start and maintained a strong gallop to win by three lengths. Field Of Gold, the even-money favorite, and previously unbeaten Zeus Olympios, finished second and third, respectively.
Appleby praised the decision to make all, citing Opera Ballo's electric start and William Buick's excellent ride. The plan is now to step up to nine furlongs for the Prix d'Ispahan, with the Lockinge also an option. Meanwhile, Roger Varian's Saddadd produced a remarkable comeback to claim the bet365 Gordon Richards Stakes, opening up exciting possibilities for the season ahead.
Black Star Boy also impressed with a convincing victory in the bet365 Handicap, potentially earning a spot in bigger races, including Royal Ascot.
