Bryson DeChambeau Withdraws from LIV Golf Mexico City Due to Wrist Injury

Bryson DeChambeau, a two-time LIV Golf winner this season, has withdrawn from the LIV Golf Mexico City tournament due to a wrist injury. DeChambeau was 16 strokes behind leader Jon Rahm after the third round. In a statement, DeChambeau explained that he experienced discomfort in his wrist during the previous round and decided to withdraw to avoid further injury. He expressed his disappointment with how the week turned out but wished his team, the Crushers, a strong finish. DeChambeau plans to take a few days to get evaluated and hopes to be ready for the LIV Golf Virginia tournament. Mexico's Luis Carrera replaced DeChambeau in the Crushers GC lineup for the final round. This withdrawal comes at a time when the LIV Golf League is facing heavy scrutiny following reports that the Saudi Public Investment Fund may end its financial support. LIV chief executive Scott O'Neil stated that the league is funded through the season and will then work to create a business plan to keep going. The next LIV Golf League event is scheduled to take place from May 7-10 at Trump National Golf Club in Washington DC.
