Kap Vert Secures Scottish National Gold for Hobbs and White

The prestigious Scottish Grand National title was claimed by Kap Vert, trained by Philip Hobbs and owned by Johnson White, as the six-year-old outran Git Maker and Kim Roque. Under the guidance of Sean Houlihan, Kap Vert demonstrated impressive stamina and jumping prowess in only his fifth outing over fences. In contrast, Midlands National winner Isaac Des Obeaux struggled with his jumping, ultimately finishing fourth after a costly mistake. Git Maker also made a significant error but managed to recover and secure second place, narrowly edging out favourite Kim Roque. This victory served as a welcome consolation for Hobbs and White, who had earlier finished second in the Scottish Champion Hurdle with Captain Hugo. The £112,000 prize marked a triumphant return to Somerset for the duo.
