Skelton Revels in Championship Trainer Title

Dan Skelton expressed his thrill at securing the championship trainer title, a feat he achieved after it became impossible for him to be overtaken. The Alcester-based trainer saw the title slip away from him by Willie Mullins in the previous two seasons, but this season, Skelton dominated from the start and became the first trainer to earn over £4 million in prize money. "It's truly remarkable; we've worked tirelessly over the years to get close, and it's fantastic to have finally achieved it," Skelton said, whose current season total stands at £4,762,920 following an impressive Grand National Festival. "This achievement reflects the outstanding efforts of our entire team. We're ecstatic with the performance of everyone involved. The horses have been exceptional, and I extend my gratitude to the staff and, most importantly, the owners who have supported me throughout this journey. "It's an incredible feeling, and we're passionate about what we do. We love working for the owners and being around the horses; it's an absolute pleasure to have crossed the finish line. Skelton had previously faced intense competition from Mullins in the final weeks of the season but is now poised to claim the title with minimal opposition from Closutton in the remaining two weekends. Mullins, who trails Skelton by £2,094,034, conceded defeat and congratulated Skelton on his victory, paving the way for Skelton to savor his victory ahead of receiving the trophy at Sandown Park on April 25.
