Clayton Extends Premier League Lead with Victory over Littler in Rotterdam

Jonny Clayton solidified his position at the top of the Premier League Darts standings with a 6-4 win over Luke Littler in the Night 11 final in Rotterdam. This marks Clayton's fourth nightly victory in the 2026 campaign, following his previous wins in Glasgow, Nottingham, and Brighton. Clayton now has a five-point lead at the top of the table with 29 points, while Littler is in second place with 24 points, Gerwyn Price in third with 19 points, and Michael van Gerwen in fourth with 16 points. Clayton's win has virtually guaranteed his spot at the Finals Night at The O2 in May. Littler made it to his fourth nightly final but was unable to secure the win, despite silencing the Rotterdam crowd after they booed him during his walk-on. The night saw two Dutch players, Gian van Veen and van Gerwen, compete in the Premier League for the first time since 2019, but both lost in the quarter-finals. Clayton expressed his motivation, stating that being labeled as a potential favorite to finish at the bottom of the Premier League had annoyed him. He showed respect for Littler, calling him an 'amazing darts player,' but asserted his own determination, saying 'this old dog has got some life in him yet.' Clayton overcame a 2-0 deficit to win 6-4, showcasing his ability to win under pressure. He also defeated Josh Rock in the semi-finals with a 6-5 win, demonstrating his capacity to perform well in high-stakes matches. Earlier, Clayton dominated van Gerwen with a 6-2 victory, ending the Dutchman's hopes of a home win. Littler started strong, silencing the crowd with a 6-3 win over Price, and then defeated Luke Humphries in the semi-finals with a 6-5 victory. Humphries had previously beaten Van Veen 6-3 in the quarter-finals, while Rock defeated Stephen Bunting 6-1. The Premier League Darts continues every Thursday until May, with Clayton currently in the lead and Littler in second place.
