Skelton Overjoyed by Trainers' Championship Win

Dan Skelton has expressed his thrill at finally achieving his goal of becoming the champion trainer, after it became impossible for anyone to catch up to him. The Alcester-based trainer had narrowly missed out on the title in the previous two seasons, with Willie Mullins surpassing him on the final day. However, this season Skelton has dominated from the start, breaking the £4million prize-money barrier and becoming the first trainer to do so. "It's incredible, we've worked hard over the years to get close, and it's great to have finally achieved it," said Skelton, who has accumulated £4,762,920 in prize money this season. Skelton attributed his success to the efforts of his entire team, including the horses, staff, and owners who have supported him throughout the season. With Mullins' entries expected to be limited in the final two weekends of the campaign, Skelton can now savor his victory ahead of receiving the trophy at Sandown Park on April 25.
