Bromley Miss Opportunity for Promotion After Cambridge Draw
Bromley's bid for promotion to League One has been delayed after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Cambridge United at Hayes Lane. The visitors had several early chances, with Ben Knight and Dominic Ball both missing opportunities to score within the first 15 minutes. Bromley's first chance came after 25 minutes, when Omar Sownunmi's header sailed over the crossbar. Cambridge continued to threaten, with Shayne Lavery hitting the bar with a header on the half hour mark. The second half saw Cambridge create another chance, with Knight's powerful drive saved by Grant Smith. This sparked Bromley into life, with Ben Thompson and Jude Arthurs both having efforts saved or deflected. With 10 minutes remaining, Smith made a superb save to tip Kelland Watts' header over, but despite a late scramble, neither side could find a breakthrough.
