Rain Suspends Raducanu's Match at Hobart International
The Hobart International match between Emma Raducanu and Camila Osorio has been put on hold due to rain, with Raducanu currently leading 6-2, 2-4. Raducanu, preparing for the Australian Open, started strong against Osorio, taking the first set before the rain interrupted the second. The delay has given Raducanu a chance to regroup before resuming play. The match will resume not before 2 am GMT. Raducanu dominated the first set, winning 6-3, but Osorio fought back in the second set. Despite Raducanu's initial lead, Osorio broke and won three consecutive games to take a 4-1 lead. Raducanu then broke back, but the rain forced a 45-minute delay. Upon resuming, they managed only three points before the rain started again, ending play for the day. Other British players were in action, with Jacob Fearnley losing in the Adelaide Open qualifying and Harriet Dart progressing to the Australian Open qualifying second round. Venus Williams, meanwhile, lost to Tatjana Maria in straight sets, less than a week before the Australian Open, where she will break the age record held by Kimiko Date.
