Hull FC Exit Leaves Cartwright Feeling Betrayed

Former Hull FC head coach John Cartwright has expressed feelings of betrayal and disrespect following his sudden exit from the club. Despite his departure being announced on April 7, Cartwright claims he is yet to receive an explanation for the decision. In an interview, Cartwright stated that the club had chosen to exercise a six-month termination clause, ending his tenure at the conclusion of his current contract. Cartwright had been at the helm since the start of the 2025 campaign, guiding the team to a seventh-place finish, their highest since 2020. The 60-year-old Australian coach emphasized his commitment to his role, asserting that he would continue to fulfill his duties without compromising his loyalty to the players. Cartwright's exit has come as a surprise, with the club already seeking a new coach for the 2027 season. Hull FC currently sits ninth in the Super League standings, with three wins and four defeats from their first seven matches.
