Adam Peaty Secures British 100m Title with Sights Set on 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

Adam Peaty, a three-time Olympic champion, emerged victorious in the 100 meters breaststroke at the Aquatic Great Britain Swimming Championships, setting his focus on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Peaty's impressive time of 58.97 seconds marked the second-quickest time globally this season, hinting at his potential to win medals in two years. He outpaced world junior champion Filip Nowacki and Max Morgan, finishing in 59.39 and 59.56 seconds, respectively. Despite his success, Peaty acknowledged room for improvement, stating, 'I didn't think I could achieve that result, so that's the new baseline.' The six-time Olympic medalist expressed his desire to 'extract the best of himself' and push his limits. Peaty, who got married during a brief hiatus from swimming, reaffirmed his commitment to the sport, training daily and seeking to maximize his time in the water. Having won the Olympic 100m breaststroke title at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, Peaty is now focused on the 2028 Olympics, where he could become the oldest British swimmer to claim an Olympic gold medal at the age of 33.
