Darts Player Noa-Lynn Van Leuven Vows to Continue Fighting After Transgender Women Ban

Noa-Lynn Van Leuven has expressed her determination to keep fighting after the darts governing body announced a ban on transgender women competing in women's tournaments. The 29-year-old, who has won six titles on the women's tour since 2022, stated that the decision is not just about her, but also a significant setback for the trans community. Van Leuven had made history by becoming the first transgender woman to play at the World Darts Championship in 2024. Although she will still be able to compete in open tournaments, she expressed her disappointment and frustration with the ruling. The Darts Regulation Authority cited a review of its policies and extensive legal advice as the reason for the ban, stating that only biological females should be eligible to compete in women's tournaments. Van Leuven, who had found support from fellow players like Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries, emphasized that she is 'not done fighting' and will continue to advocate for her right to compete.
