2027 Tour de France Routes Unveiled, Featuring UK Starts in Edinburgh and Leeds

The 2027 Tour de France promises to be an exciting event, with the men's race commencing in Edinburgh on July 2 and passing through the picturesque hills and valleys of Britain. The opening stage will take riders through Midlothian and the Scottish borders before concluding in Carlisle. The following day, the peloton will embark on an undulating journey from Keswick in the Lake District National Park to Liverpool. A challenging third stage will take place in Wales, featuring climbs up Côte de Rhigos and Côte de Caerffili before finishing in Cardiff. This marks the first time both Grand Départs have occurred in the same country outside of France. Britain has consistently proven to be a welcoming host, with the 2014 men's Tour in Yorkshire and the 2007 Tour in London drawing large crowds. The women's 2027 Tour will begin in Leeds on July 30, crossing the Pennines to Manchester, followed by a stage through the Peak District National Park and the Snake Pass before concluding in Sheffield. The women's peloton will bid farewell to Britain after a third stage in London on August 1.
