Fury expressed his thoughts on the matter, stating, "I don't think Anthony Joshua needs another tune-up bout. We should schedule our fight immediately, in case something unexpected happens in the meantime. There have been numerous instances over the past decade where our fight was supposed to take place, but it was postponed due to various reasons." Joshua last fought in December, in an unexpected match against Jake Paul, while Fury is set to compete on Saturday in a comeback bout against Arslanbek Makhmudov. Fury emphasized his eagerness to face Joshua, saying, "You've had your warm-up fight, and I'm having mine now. I've been out of the ring for 16 months, so let's make it happen. Forget about Wilder and anyone else; I'll take care of my business on Saturday, and then we can arrange our fight for this year. That's the fairest approach."
