Laura Robson's Intensive London Marathon Training: A Journey from Melbourne to Miami

Former British No 1 Laura Robson, a Sky Sports Tennis presenter, has been undertaking rigorous training for the London Marathon, set to take place in April. Her preparations have taken her to various locations, including Melbourne during the Australian Open, Milan Cortina for the Winter Olympics, and Miami for the Miami Open, exposing her to diverse climates and conditions. Now back in the UK, Robson is gearing up for the 26.2-mile challenge, which will commence in Greenwich/Blackheath and conclude at Buckingham Palace. Describing her training as 'brutal,' Robson aims to achieve a sub-3:40 finish, although her Garmin and Strava suggest she has the potential for a sub-3:30. To prepare, she has been focusing on a carb-rich diet, increasing her electrolyte intake, and seeking advice from fellow athletes on maintaining a consistent marathon pace. Robson is looking forward to the event's atmosphere and the sense of accomplishment that will come with completing her first marathon, with the charity Give It Your Max being the beneficiary of her efforts.
