St Helens Secure Convincing Win Over Toulouse as Bradford Defeat Huddersfield

St Helens extended their unbeaten streak to four matches with a 30-16 victory over Toulouse, propelling them to second place in the Betfred Super League standings. The team's dominant first-half performance, which saw them score 28 points in the opening 29 minutes, was the key to their success. Agnatius Paasi initiated the scoring after Owen Dagnall's break from a scrum in the fourth minute, with Jackson Hastings landing the first of five successful kicks. The Saints continued to build on their strong start, with Lewis Murphy scoring twice within an eight-minute span before the midpoint of the first half. Tristan Sailor played a crucial role in setting up Murphy's second try and also produced a superb offload to send David Klemmer over. Jake Wingfield then set up Deon Cross, and the Saints had established a commanding lead by the 30-minute mark. Although the start of the second half was closely contested, Toulouse responded with tries from Benjamin Laguerre, Luke Polselli, and Tyler Dupree, with Jake Shorrocks landing two goals. However, Hastings had the final say, completing a personal 10-point haul with his boot. In another match, bottom-placed Huddersfield suffered their fifth consecutive defeat as Bradford stormed to a 26-14 win. A tight and tryless first half saw the Bulls lead 4-2, but the second period was more open, with the Giants regaining the lead before Bradford took control. Leon Ruan and Jayden Nikorima scored tries for the Bulls, and Chris Atkin kicked two conversions. Although Huddersfield refused to give up, Bradford finished strongly, with Nikorima scoring his second try and Luke Hooley adding the final points.
