The 24‑year‑old forward, who became the most expensive British player ever when he moved from Aston Villa to Chelsea after a standout World Cup that helped England reach the semi‑finals and secure third place, opened his Chelsea career with a goal in a 3‑1 victory over Real Sociedad on Saturday. "I’m just so excited," Rogers told Sky Sports.
"It’s been an unbelievable summer. It might be the only summer where I didn’t mind the break being short – I love my rest, I love time with my family, but at the same time I was watching the pre‑season fixtures and itching to get back on the pitch." He went on to describe the atmosphere at the club as electric. "Every day I walk onto the training ground I feel a buzz, a sense of anticipation about where this journey could lead.
