Legendary Darts Duo McDonald and Noble Enter PDC Hall of Fame

Renowned Master of Ceremonies John McDonald and esteemed referee George Noble have been announced as the newest additions to the prestigious PDC Hall of Fame, as they prepare for retirement following the World Darts Championship. The pair had previously revealed their decision to step down after decades of dedicated service, with McDonald having worked full-time on PDC tournaments since 2007, and Noble having officiated on the PDC circuit for nearly two decades. McDonald, a former Parachute Regiment member and news photographer, has a rich history in sports, having worked as an MC in boxing, snooker, and pool. Noble, 57, has had the distinction of presiding over seven nine-darters at the Alexandra Palace and had the honor of calling the first perfect leg in PDC World Championship history, achieved by Raymond van Barneveld in 2008/09. PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter praised the duo, stating, 'John and George have been instrumental in the PDC's growth over the past 20 years. John's passion and ability to create an electric atmosphere have been key factors in darts' widespread popularity.' Porter also commended Noble, saying, 'George's addition to our roster of referees was a significant signing, and he has been an outstanding asset to the PDC.' The pair joins an illustrious group of inductees, including PDC President Barry Hearn OBE, founders Dick Allix and Tommy Cox, iconic referee Russ Bray, and former stars Phil Taylor, Eric Bristow MBE, John Lowe MBE, Dennis Priestley, Rod Harrington, and John Part. Other notable inductees include former PDC Master of Ceremonies Jones and referees Freddie Williams and Bruce Spendley.
