While Welsh Fire's net run-rate makes it unlikely for them to catch up, a substantial win for MI London against Birmingham Phoenix could propel them into second or third place. The net run-rate is used to separate teams with the same number of points, calculated by subtracting the average runs scored against a team from the average runs they score over 100 balls per game.
Trent Rockets have automatically qualified for the final with 28 points from their eight group matches. The final two group matches will determine the remaining spots, with the eliminators and finals set to take place on August 14 and 16, respectively.
